Albania (Albanian: Shqipërisë) is the official name of the Republic of Albania (Albanian: Republika e Shqipërisë) a country on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe.  It shares borders with Montenegro and Serbia to the north and northern Macedonia and Greece to the east.  Albania is also part of the Mediterranean region, located north of the Greek Sea and west of the Aegean Sea.  With an area of ??28,748 square kilometers, Albania is the 144th largest country in the world.
