Denmark (Danish: Danmark) Officially known as the Kingdom of Denmark (Danish: Kongeriget Danmark) is a country in northern Europe and its capital is Copenhagen.  The country"s population in 2019 is estimated at 5.8 million.  Its official language is Danish.  Faroese, Greenlandic and German are also recognized as local languages.  The currency is the Danish krone, and although it joined the European Union in 1973, it did not join the eurozone.  80% of Danes are Protestant Christians.
